Matching a stand to your egg
Every stand lists its height and width, and most list the eggs it suits. As a guide, quail and guinea fowl eggs sit on stands around 25mm across; duck and goose eggs on 30–65mm stands; emu and rhea eggs need 55–85mm; ostrich eggs 80mm and wider. Taller stands lift an egg to show off a hinged opening or a scene inside.
Bases and domes
A base finishes a piece and protects it on the shelf. Light bases illuminate a cut-out design from below; display domes keep dust off finished work.
